The shelter is hosting a shot clinic Saturday. It's an effort to protect pets from common illnesses like rabies, parvo, and distemper.
The shots cost six to twelve dollars, depending on the type of vaccine. Organizers ask that dogs be brought in on leashes and cats in carrying cases.
Saturday's clinic will be held at the Madera District Fairgrounds from 10am to noon.
