Congress has moved to prohibit the Food and Drug Administration from approving genetically modified salmon for human consumption. The amendment was placed on a farm spending bill.
An advisory panel said last year that genetically modified fish appears to be safe to eat but more studies may be needed before it is served to people.

Valley grape growers are saying good riddance to rainy weather.
Farmers have struggled to keep their crops healthy after weeks of cool weather which slowed growth and caused mildew and fungus to spread. Farmers say they still expect a high-quality grape crop if warm weather continues to stay on track.
