Math teacher accused of inappropriately touching students

HOUSTON Houston police are now looking for this former teacher, and it's not clear if he simply cannot be found, or if he is intentionally hiding.

Investigators say Kendal Desisso, 24, was working as a ninth grade math teacher at Westbury Christian School at the time of the allegations. They say there were at least two incidents with teen girls -- one in January and a second in May. Prosecutors say it happened during one-on-one tutoring sessions in his classroom.

"Once the door was locked, he would pull up a chair and he would start talking about math and teaching math," said Paul Fortenberry with the Harris County District Attorney's Office. "While he was doing this, he would begin to touch the girls inappropriately."

Desisso is now charged with indecency with a child and improper relationship with a student.

A spokesperson for Westbury Christian School says upon learning of the allegations, "The school immediately began an internal investigation and on Tuesday morning, May 10, Mr. Desisso was sent home and relieved of his duties involving direct contact with students."

He resigned his position on June 9.

"The face looks kind of familiar, but I didn't see him here," said neighbor Joe Davidoff.

Police are looking for the former teacher and now neighbors are, too.

Neighbor Joe Wheeler said, "We have to catch him and find out the truth of the matter. But I don't know this fella."

If Desisso is convicted, he faces four to 40 years in prison. Bond has been set at $30,000 for each count.
