Fresno man pleads no contest in connection with the accidental shooting death of his step-daughter

FRESNO, Calif.

The Fresno man charged in connection with the accidental shooting death of his six year-old step-daughter pleaded no contest in court today.

Jared Dubois was charged with one count of first degree criminal storage of a firearm. His stepdaughter Emily Lavender was shot to death by her two year old brother on May 29th. Police say the toddler found the loaded gun under his father's bed.

Dubois could face up to three years in prison.
