Better Business Bureau warns Central Valley of utilities scam

FRESNO, Calif.

The Better Business Bureau says it has been hearing from businesses scammed by fake PG&E representatives. The people actually represent alternative energy suppliers that may or may not be able to reduce the utility expenses for businesses and businesses may still receive a separate bill from PG&E.

The bureau says businesses should always ask to see identification when approached by anyone claiming to represent a company. PG&E also has a list of approved alternative energy suppliers available to the public.
