Fresno State students get involved in National Night Out

FRESNO, Calif.

As you know, National Night Out is part of a nationwide initiative to bring communities together on the first Tuesday in August of each year to "promote neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships".

This year, Fresno State students formed two new neighborhood watch groups to cut down on crime near campus. The "Interfraternity Council" and the "Panhellenic Group."

Their goal is to see a positive change in the Fresno State and Greek communities in regards to public safety.

National Night Out, for the El Dorado Park Community will be held Tuesday night at Wesley United Methodist Church of Fresno at 1343 E. Barstow Ave. from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m.

The cost is free. It will include food, activities, contests and safety information for the entire family.
