It happened as the driver was turning from California Avenue onto Sunnyside. Police say the driver lost control, smashing through the wall and through two yards before coming to a stop.
No one was hurt in the crash, but several windows were broken because of flying cinderblocks and a family pool was full of debris.
"I was shocked," said Timothy Avena. "I was like what happened to our house. It was beautiful and now it's trashed."
Police tell us the big rig driver had a suspended license and tried to run away but some neighbors stopped him. Police arrested him for driving under the influence.
The driver was taken to the hospital for a medical condition that was not related to the crash.
