Merced's second annual "Run for the Fallen" starts at Applegate Park Saturday morning.
Terri Pickard is one of the organizers of the four mile run-walk. Her son, Marine Corporal Josh Pickard, died while fighting in Iraq in December of 2006.
Terri says about 500 people showed up for last year's run, and she's expecting as many as one thousand this year.
The race is Saturday at Applegate Park at 25th and R Streets. Registration is at 7:00 a.m. and the race begins at 8:00 a.m.
