The study in the British Medical Journal says that eating chocolate lowered the risk of heart disease by as much as 37 percent. The research also found eating the sweet treat reduced the risk of stroke and diabetes in participants.
A word of caution from the study authors though, the calories found in chocolate can adversely affect your waist line. They encouraged people to consume the treat in moderate amounts.
