Central Valley receives financial boost for children's health care

FRESNO, Calif.

Fresno Healthy Communities access partners received more than one million dollars in federal funds.

The money will be used to help enroll children in public insurance programs such as Medi-Cal and Healthy Families.

Parents can now use an easy web-based system that provides a one-stop approach to enrollment across five counties.

The money will also be used to help conduct a community outreach program -- in several different languages -- that will promote health coverage and connect children to important health services.
