According to the Department of Fish and Game - around 90-thousand hunters are expected to participate this year and more than 1.5 million doves will be hunted.
The season runs from today (Thursday) until September 15th and again November 13th through December 27th.
Hunters must have a valid hunting license, a game bird stamp and a free harvest information program stamp.
