Fresno triple stabbing suspect has a lengthy criminal past

FRESNO, Calif.

29-year-old /*William Jimenez*/ was arrested Tuesday, after a string of stabbings.

Police say his victims were apparently chosen at random -- as the suspect made his way through Downtown Fresno.

Action News learned -- Jimenez served time in prison for calling in a false bomb threat to the Fresno County Sheriff's Department in 2006.

At that time, his competency was questioned -- but he was cleared to stand trial.

Jimenez now faces three felony charges of assault with a deadly weapon. All of the victims are expected to recover.
