More than 600 items, ranging from office equipment to cars and trucks, are available for auction purchase at the city's Purchasing Office on O Street.
While the city has held similar events in the past, Merced Purchasing Supervisor Pam Whala said this year's sale is the largest ever, in part because the City recently privatized its parks maintenance service.
Whala said all items are sold "as is", and that there are no warranties or guarantees available.
Most of the property may be inspected at the Purchasing Office between 9 to 11 a.m. and 1 to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Bidders are expected to inspect the items before submitting a bid. Proposals will be accepted until the morning of Sept. 22.
Winners must pick up their purchases within 14 days.
