Marcus Ray Corral memorial ride

VISALIA, Calif.

More than 30 bikers took off from Visalia for a 70-mile ride in honor of Marcus Ray Corral. The 16-year-old was mistaken for a gang member, as he walked home from a friend's house in 2009, and was shot and killed just steps away from his home.

Family members organized Saturday's event to honor Corral who enjoyed motorcycles.

To help keep his memory alive, it keeps us alive, it keeps his friends alive, his love ones alive, because he had a big impact on us, he was so doing this really helps," said Corrals aunt Debbie Ceballos.

The family has set up the Marcus Ray Corral Foundation to support the families of victims of violent crimes. Donations go toward scholarships for youth struggling with the loss of a sibling.
