Visalia's Golden West High School Ag Mechanics team arrived at Fresno Yosemite International Airport Saturday night. Friends and family were there with big signs and balloons to congratulate the students for winning the national Future Farmers Of America Ag Mechanics competition in Indianapolis.
The students say their victory is still sinking in. "After the competition we didn't think we would win, didn't think we did that great. Our hearts dropped when we found out we won. We were so excited it was unbelievable!" said Brian Brown.
The team beat out several others from around the country with their successful welding and electrical work during the challenges. They say they prepared an entire year for the FFA competition.
