Cattle rustling is a crime from the old west, but it has now become a multimillion dollar problem again today.

Beef prices have made cattle an attractive quick score for people struggling in the sluggish economy.

The Texas and Southwestern Cattle Raisers Association says some 45-hundred cattle have been reported missing or stolen this year in Texas and Oklahoma alone.

Some thieves slaughter on site.

Cattle aren't the only target. Thousands of lambs and hogs have also been stolen from farms.
