Fresno man arrested for animal cruelty, stolen property, drugs

FRESNO, Calif.

The victim was a small black dog named Sheba. Deputies saw the abuse for themselves as they were parked near the intersection of Blackstone and Shields early Sunday morning.

Deputies say the man dragged, kicked and swung the dog in the air at least three full rotations, before letting her fall to the ground.

A micro-chip imbedded in the dog led authorities to the owners who said Sheba was stolen from their front yard on Clinton three days earlier.

Lee Leiker Chet, 39, was arrested for felony cruelty to animals and for being in possession of stolen property marijuana and a methamphetamine pipe.
