People on the West Coast are more likely to buy locally grown food than people in most other parts of the country.

The U.A. Ag Department says the marketing of local foods grossed nearly $5-billion dollars nationwide last year. The report says farms on the West Coast accounted for nearly one-quarter of the nation's local-food sales.

People in metropolitan areas and in the Northeast also bought local food at a higher-than average rate.
