Stolen barbecue used by charities found

FRESNO, Calif.

There is a happy ending to a story Action News brought you about a stolen barbecue.

The giant grill is back with its owners and free to resume its work for several Valley charity organizations.

On Friday, we reported someone broke through two locked gates to steal the barbecue from a storage area in Northwest Fresno.

On Sunday, someone abandoned it on the side of a street about a mile away.

Xavier Flores with International Catering Company says Erica Gaytan spotted the barbecue and told her grandfather, who happens to be the barber for Xavier Flores, Jr.

Flores heard the good news from his son.

"He called up and I still had my sweats on, put my slippers on and just jumped in the car and went over there," Flores said.

Whoever took the grill did a little damage, but it can all be repaired.

The barbecue is now chained up and the hitch is locked down.
