California's unemployment rate drops

SACRAMENTO

That's the lowest rate in more than two years. In October the rate stood at 11.7 percent.

The agency says nearly 7,000 non-farm jobs were added over the course of the month. In November the national unemployment rate dropped to 8.6 percent.

A year ago, in November 2010, the state's unemployment rate was at 12.5 percent. Since then the state is estimated to have added more than 233,000 jobs.
