In fact, gas is at some of its lowest prices of the year.
Over the past month, prices across the nation have dropped.
Fresnogasprices.com says the national average price of gas is now $3.23 per gallon.
Here in the Valley they are higher.
The average price in Fresno is currently $3.46, down from $3.75.
In Visalia, prices are slightly higher, averaging $3.59 per gallon.
And in Merced, gas averages $3.52.
Now even though gas prices have dropped, analysts say these prices are still expected to set a record high for prices this Christmas.
And since prices typically drop in early winter, this sets the stage for an expensive spring and summer.
But we won't think about that now - we'll just enjoy the break we're getting now especially for those who have big travel plans this holiday season.
