Rose Parade will include Merced Sheriff's Posse

FRESNO, Calif.

The Merced Sheriff's Posse, which is made up completely of volunteers, was formed in 1948.

It's the first time the posse has been invited to attend the event, but they were actually invited to the presidential inauguration six years ago.

Members of the Kings County Sheriff's Posse will also participate this year.

In Southern California, volunteers are working around the clock to get floats ready for the annual tradition.

Thousands of roses are used to put the floats together for next Monday's event.

Many organizations take part in the parade, which has the theme "just imagine".

The 123rd annual rose parade takes place on January 2 in Pasadena and will be shown on ABC30.
