More than half of the Visalia city firefighters responded to the massive fire. Neighboring fire departments were also called in for assistance. A witness told Action News he could see the fire from miles away.
"The flames were pretty high," said Sergio Campos. "When we drove up, the ashes were probably flying a block over from where the house was."
Charlie Norman with the Visalia Fire Department said, "The crews were able to keep the fire confined to the structure of origin and not spread to any adjacent dwellings."
Fortunately the family who lives in the home made it out safely. The cause is under investigation.
