Northwest Fresno home damaged by blaze

FRESNO, Calif.

A fire broke out at a home on Decatur and Ivanhoe around 5 p.m. Tuesday night.

Investigators say the father heard the smoke detector and was able to get everybody out of the house safely.

"There was heavy smoke, we found out that all the residents had escaped. Firefighters fought the fire, controlled the fire and accounted for all family members," Batt. Chief Casey Clark of the Fresno Fire Department said.

Firefighters believe the fire started in the living room. No one was injured in the blaze.
