Save Mart closing another Fresno store

FRESNO, Calif.

The market at Fruit and McKinley Avenues is scheduled to shut its doors on February 9.

The company blames the struggling economy and competition from other retailers for the closure.

The store opened at that location back in 1996.

It is the fourth Save Mart store to close in the area since 2010.

Save Mart officials tell Action News it will work hard to place employees in other stores as best as it can.

The retailer still has eleven Save Mart stores and four Foodmaxx stores in the Fresno area.
