Austrian teacher escapes legal action over anti-cheating plan

The teacher reportedly bought a device that would jam signals to prevent graduating classes from doing Internet research on their smartphones during final exams last summer.

A phone service provider figured out what was going on when they noticed a lack of service, and notified authorities.

Under Austrian law, only police, the military and others in charge of security have permission to jam signals.
