Workers spent hours ripping out sheet rock, insulation, and carpet from several units at the Sierra Apartments in Winton. They've been doing this demolition work for nearly two weeks. But now they'll also be looking into the issue of mold in some units.
The problems all started last month when freezing temperatures caused pipes to burst. Dozens of residents had to be evacuated, and some found mold when they returned home.
The management company says it was not aware of the mold until contacted by Action News Wednesday night.
The company now says it will move families to a hotel or nearby unit if they need to leave their apartments during the clean-up process.
