The shooting happened just after 2am at Gettysburg and 11th Street. Police say someone fired at a Honda Accord that was heading west on Gettysburg.

The driver and a passenger were both hit. The car ended up crashing into an apartment building nearby -- the driver of the car died at the scene. Neighbors rushed out of their homes trying to figure out what happened.

"He said he kinda hit him in the chest and said 'hey are you okay,' and he didn't response," said Ruben Meracino. "He touched his heart and it was not responding."

The second shooting victim is expected to survive his injuries. At this point, police don't know if the shooting is gang related. They're offering a one-thousand dollar reward for information that leads to an arrest.

Police haven't found the shooter -- if you have any information you're asked to call Fresno Police.
