The fire started around seven o'clock last night near Marks and Dakota. Investigators say that the five-year-old girl was playing with a lighter inside the home. The fire from the lighter caused some bedding to go up in flames.
"The mother tried to put the fire out with an extinguisher and the fire extinguisher did not work and they made it out of the building," said Batt. Chief Ron Stogdell with the Fresno Fire Department.
Half of the trailer was destroyed. The family dog also died in the fire.
