The CHP and UPS have joined forces to raise awareness about distracted driving. The delivery truck drivers have as many distractions as anyone while behind the wheel. They have to use mobile devices to scan and check off delivered packages -- and they often do so while in route to their next destination.

Now, the CHP is using those drivers as an example of what not to do. Law enforcement has been cracking down on drivers talking or texting since a ban began in 2008.

A new report by U.C. Berkeley shows overall traffic crashes are down 22-percent. And deaths blamed on drivers using hand-held cellphones are down nearly half. Deaths among drivers who use hands-free phones dropped at a similar rate.
