Merced Police said they responded to a fight in progress at two businesses on West Ave. According to witnesses two employees of the businesses started fist fighting over a broken window on a truck.
Police say, Vasquez came to the aid of a co-worker and stabbed the victim twice in the upper body with an unknown object.
The victim was taken to the hospital. Police say the injuries did not appear to be life threatening.
Vasquez was booked on aggravated assault and criminal threat charges.
