The park is seeing a twenty-percent increase in visitors so far this year, compared to the same time last year.

The Yosemite-Mariposa County Tourism Bureau is using the high price of fuel as part of its pitch.

Advertisements across much of the state stress you can get to Yosemite on one tank of gas.

Action News caught up with one family from Folsom that decided to drive to the park for spring break for exactly that reason. Nickie Elmhurst said, "The gas prices were really high so we wanted to stay around the area but get away from our little hometown and still explore California and not have to fly anywhere just because it was too expensive."

Yosemite officials say the mild weather this year has also made it easier for visitors to get to the park.
