Fresno students spend spring break helping community

FRESNO, Calif.

Volunteers with the organization Building Healthy Communities spent the day at Holmes Park in Southeast Fresno working to make the park safer and healthier.

"You know these are very civically engaged, civically minded young people who want very much to make a better community and are very engaged in working with civic leaders and other people in the community to create the outcomes for building healthier communities," team manager Kate Henry said.

More than sixty kids cleaned up the park by painting over graffiti and picking up trash.

The kids ended the day with a community barbecue and invited friends and family in the area.
