ABC30 Action News is proud to announce the promotion of Executive Producer Michael Carr to News Director. Carr has worked at ABC30 for the last thirteen years, starting as a weekend assignment editor. He later produced award-winning Action News Live at Five and eventually assumed the role of Executive Producer. Carr returned to the Central Valley after stints at KFSN's sister station KGO-TV in San Francisco as a producer and in Sacramento as an assignment editor.

ABC30 has depended on Michael Carr's talents and strong leadership in the newsroom for years, and he has served as acting News Director after former News Director Tracey Watkowski became News Director at KGO-TV. Under Carr's guidance, Action News had a strong February ratings performance and last September, Carr oversaw the creation and successful launch of Action News Live at Four. "Michael Carr's excellent credentials as a newsroom manager, his integrity and proven track record as a journalist at ABC30 make him the best choice for taking over the helm at ABC30 Action News," says Dan Adams, President and General Manager of KFSN-TV.

Michael Carr holds a Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communication and Journalism from California State University in Fresno, CA where he played for the Bulldogs football team. Michael and his wife DeAnn have two daughters who love to call the Central Valley their home. Join ABC30 as we congratulate Michael Carr on his promotion to News Director.
