The action packed main event is always Kyle Shepherd's favorite. "It's fun watching all the bulls throwing people off their backs."
On Sunday he put on his cowboy best and soaked in the last day at the 98th annual Clovis Rodeo with his family. "My grandma bought me my shirt and my hat last year and my necklace is my grandpa's."
Rodeo organizers say attendance is up this year.
Ron Dunbar said, "Thursday night was huge, Friday we never had that many people in this place, Saturday was huge so Sunday we expect close to a sell-out or a sell out."
Rodeo association president Ron Dunbar says the organization donates about $150 thousand to local non-profits every year. "We are a non-profit and we give right back to the community and the more money we take in the more money we'll give back to the community."
But for many fans what makes the four day event so special is the people who gather here.
Organizers credit a large part of the rodeos success to its rich history.
Dunbar said, "It's a legacy and it's a tradition and that's what we try to keep the Clovis Rodeo tradition, we haven't changed things much in 98 years."
The rodeo sold out again Sunday. Organizers are meeting on Tuesday to start the process of putting together next year's show.
