She has been a truly a pioneer of coaching -- not only in softball but in Women's College Athletics as a whole. Bulldog Softball Coach Margie Wright announced Sunday that she will retire effective June 30th.
Coach Wright's resume pretty much sums it up: A 13-time hall of famer, and Olympic head coach, Wright has totaled more that 1,450 wins overall with almost 13-hundred of those with Fresno State. She has led the Bulldogs to 10 NCAA Women's College World Series appearances and 17 outright or shared conference titles.
Coach Wright has scheduled a press conference for Monday afternoon at 3:30 p.m. where Fresno State Athletic Director Thomas Boeh will speak as well.
