'Dogs Softball not selected for the NCAA Tournament

FRESNO, Calif.

Players learned Sunday night they won't be going to the NCAA tournament marking the end of Coach Margie Wright's tenure at Fresno State. The bulldogs were hoping for at-large been after playing in the WAC Championship Series and a 36-and-23 overall record.

Coach wright issued a statement Sunday night saying, "It's really a sad day. I felt like we played a difficult enough schedule, even though we didn't win every game, and I felt like we made a run at the end... unfortunately there must have been factors that kept us from getting in."

Wright has been with Fresno State for 27 years and won more games than any other softball coach in NCAA division one history. The Dogs 30 year run in the playoffs is also a record.

Wright announced her retirement last week. Wright will address the media Monday afternoon..
