Organizers say the event also serves as a living history lesson.
"I don't know what it is about pirates that draws everybody but people seem to have a good time pretending to be pirates and coming out to a pirate festival," said pirate Grandpa Morgan.
Fresno's Pirate Festival continues Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Admission is 10 dollars for adults, and seven for kids -- but you can get one dollar off if you bring a canned food item.
