Family escapes Fresno house fire

FRESNO, Calif.

Authorities says the fire started right before 2 a.m. Friday morning at a home on Cedar near El Monte. The Fresno Fire Department said heavy flames were seen coming out of the attic when firefighters arrived.

A family of five was inside the home when the fire broke out, but they made it out and were able to save many of their belongings.

Firefighters are still trying to figure out what sparked the flames. They say the fire caused $15,000 dollars in damage.
