Valley dads and families celebrate Father's Day

FRESNO, Calif.

That was the case at Riverside Golf Course, where Action News saw plenty of men hitting the course before going home to celebrate with their families.

At Figarden Loop Park, dads and their families took in a little baseball celebrating father's day with America's favorite pastime.

However they spent their day, dads we talked with called it a perfect day.

"I woke up to kids telling me they love me and giving me a big hug, telling me happy Father's Day with a little card," Jesse Cortez of Fresno said.

"Being a father is a the greatest honor in my life. I have four children and they make life better. I love them all," Wil Wilkes of Fresno said.

Meanwhile, a special delivery at St. Agnes Medical Center came just in time for Father's Day.

Ta-Jai Asberry was born early this morning, making this his dad's very first Father's Day.

Dad Darrell Asberry is originally from Atlanta, but met his girlfriend while attending college here in the Valley.

On Sunday he said he couldn't have asked for a better father's day gift.

"My girlfriend gave me the best gift I could ever ask for. It couldn't get no better than this. It was just perfect," Asberry said.

Ta-Jai Darrell Asberry was born at 4:14 a.m. and mom, dad, and baby are all doing well.
