Tulare Co Courthouse eatery likely to close

FRESNO, Calif.

Action News first brought you this story last week.

Luis and Clemencia Medina have been running their restaurant in the basement of the courthouse for the last 15 years.

The Tulare County Supervisors offered the owners a six-month extension on their business license, which meant they could have stayed open through the end of January.

But the Medinas were hoping for a one-year lease. When that request was denied the owners were forced to make a decision.

Today, they confirmed with Action News they will not accept the six month extension. That means the cafeteria will likely close at the end of August.
