The agency says an individual is pretending to work for Manco Abbott and taking money from victims as well as personal information.
Last Friday the company was tipped off by a Visalia resident regarding a Fresno home he found listed for rent on Craigslist.
Apparently someone has set up a fake website and is mailing fake applications to people who are interested in renting the property.
The application requests an upfront application fee of $35 dollars.
Manco Abbott says it does not manage single family homes.
