Bay Area oil refinery fire causes possible health problems

FRESNO, Calif.

A large fire erupted Monday at a Chevron oil refinery in the East Bay city of Richmond. The fire sent flames into the air along with huge clouds of thick black smoke.

Because of the risk of toxins in the air, residents in several cities including Richmond, North Richmond and San Pablo have been told to stay in their homes.

Chevron says one employee suffered a minor injury. No deaths have been reported.

Analysts are now saying the fire will likely contribute to higher prices at the pump along the West Coast.
