Investigators say Juan Hernandez, 23, tried to kill one of his co-defendants during jury selection Thursday morning.
Deputies say when the judge and attorneys left the courtroom for a meeting in the judge's chambers, Hernandez attacked one of the other men with a razor blade, all while wearing shackles.
Deputies rushed in, regained control and got the 90 prospective jurors out of harm's way.
The assault victim was taken to the hospital with upper body wounds but deputies say he will be ok.
