Water is back on for EPU after valve theft

FRESNO, Calif.

EPU is a non-profit agency which assists more than 800 families whose kids are special needs or disabled each week. Over the weekend thieves made off with metal valves outside their building on First Street -- leaving EPU without water.

Monday Executive Director Marion Karian said none of the families could be brought in for their regular sessions. Tuesday, the water valves were temporarily fixed and the water is back on.

Karian says it is going to cost EPU about $8,000 to make repairs.
