New effort to stop citrus greening pest

A new aggressive effort is underway in California to stop the spread of a disease targeting citrus trees.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture is placing new restrictions on the movement of plant parts shipped from areas contaminated with "citrus greening" pest. Ag officials across the state are happy about the new rule because the requirements are designed to protect the industry.

The quarantine doesn't restrict fruit shipping, as long as there are no stems and leaves on the citrus.
