Abandoned babies buried in Fresno ceremony

FRESNO, Calif.

The non-profit Garden of Innocence held the service at Mount View Cemetery on Saturday.

The children were previously at the Fresno County Coroner's Office.

Each baby was buried with a handmade quilt and a personalized poem and each infant is remembered on a memorial wall.

"It makes me feel honored. Now the next time we have an abandoned baby they get a dignified burial and all the support from the community of Fresno," Kelly Wiefel of the Fresno County Coroner's Office said.

"It is pretty touching that people are willing to do this kind of thing for those children," Bob Hardin of Fresno said.

Community donations made the service possible.
