/*Michael Risenhoover*/ was a deputy with the Tulare County Sheriff's Department. He was found guilty of ten counts of child molestation on a child under the age of 14.
As the jury read its guilty verdict for the fifth charge, deputies say Risenhoover reached over his attorney and attacked the investigating detective in the case.
Sgt. Chris Douglass said, "He did manage to get hands on her and attempted to grab her service weapon and at that time bailiffs grabbed the defendant, a taser was deployed at the time in order to gain compliance from him so they could detain him and they were able to detain him and bring him out of the courtroom without further incident."
After the incident, deputies then brought him back to the courtroom to finish the reading of his verdict. He now faces charges for assaulting an officer.
Risenhoover will be back in court next month for his sentencing in the child molestation case. He faces 84 years to life in prison.
