The shooting happened in the area of Central and State around 8:30 Saturday night northeast of San Joaquin.
Authorities say two people were shot, one of them in the head.
Deputies say when they arrived, they could hear shots being fired.
They found one victim unconscious.
He was taken to CRMC where he's currently in critical condition.
The other victim was also taken to the hospital and he's expected to be okay.
Authorities say both victims were shot as they tried to rob a marijuana grow.
The suspects ran away as deputies arrived.
