FUSD has sworn in it's newest board member

FRESNO, Calif.

Former Fresno Unified teacher and father of five - Christopher De La Cerda - took the seat left vacant by Tony Vang.

Vang resigned in September following allegations he lived and voted outside the area he served.

De La Cerda was appointed last week after the board interviewed four candidates for the position.

He tells Action News after spending the last few years looking after his own child with special needs, it was time to return to education and give back to the community.

In the video, Action News reporter Linda Mumma has complete coverage on the story.
